My Travel Summer Makeup
Spring is finally here and so as the season requires, I’m doing a little update in my makeup bag. Head over to my last post if you would like to see what I usually carry in my travel makeup bag.
I keep core items and replace others depending on the season. I switch my lipsticks to brighter colors, add a little more glow, water proof my mascara, and if I feel adventurous, I switch to a more floral summery perfume.
Let’s begin, shall we?
I’m new to YSL lipsticks but after a generous dab on my pout, I knew I had to add it to my permanent travel kit! Its ultra hydrating formula keeps my lips smooth and beautiful. The color range is perfect to add to Spring and Summer makeup sets. Staying power is weak but it does leave a soft tint. The color I tried is No. 44 from the newly added hues.
If your priority is staying power, or you just kiss your beau very often, this is your new best friend! I love red lipstick but I hate that it never lasts and when it transfers everywhere. Well, not this one! I could eat a burger and it will still not budge. It may fade a little but at least it wont be all over my chin! (Yes, this has happened quite a few times) Whether you have a light, medium or dark skin tone, there’s a red hue waiting to be added to your array of Summer makeup.
I love my BECCA bronzer/highlighter duo compact but the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar is so beautiful and natural, it’s hard to put down. I switched to Charlotte Tilbury to achieve a more natural look for Spring and Summer.
Ok so this may be best for Summer makeup than Spring but I’m ready to radiate glow like a goddess now!
Just because I want to glow like a Greek goddess doesn’t mean I want to glow a la grease mode. This powder is perfect to keep that shiny T-zone at bay. It doesn’t reflect light in pictures, unlike Makeup Forever HD Powder.
This is a no-brainer for summer makeup but also for any makeup bag! I used this all year long, it is the only one that actually hydrates my pout even in the coldest temperatures.
I’m extremely picky when it comes to mascara. I tend to buy Japanese mascara because the curl lasts so much longer. Not all mascaras can hold my sad lashes up but I unexpectedly came across one I can find at any drugstore in the US! Mascara is one of those items where it’s essential for a Summer makeup bag but also for every other season. The Super Sizer is extremely waterproof so you can swim carelessly with this, just don’t expect it to hold your curls when you come in contact with water. This is one of the most reliable mascaras I have ever encountered.
My makeup bag is from Mango – got it last year during their summer sale. I absolutely love it. Also, Mango is cheaper in Europe specially now with the exchange rate. I guess it’s just another excuse to go shopping overseas.
