Shopping in Seoul, Korea
Seoul is well known for many things including its cosmetics and fashion style. There are so many shopping areas in Seoul that is hard to list them all. Basically, Seoul is to shopping as Miami is to Clubbing. Since this was my fourth time in Korea, I decided to visit other lesser known areas. I shamefully admit, my shopping got so out of control, I had to slow myself down and went sightseeing.
One of my favorite place to go shopping in Seoul is LOTTE FITIN in Dongdaemun. The reason why I love this place is the clothing designs. LOTTE FITIN is an outlet for up and coming designers from Korea and reasonably priced. They are also higher quality and the price is displayed. Unlike the other malls Doota, where they try to rip you off because you are a tourist. They tried to sell me a shirt for 80,000 Won (around $70) when I know that shirt probably cost 20,000 Won. Hongdae is a very well known shopping district but it has become very expensive as well as Myeongdong. Another great location for shopping is Ewha/Edae the woman university area. Garosugil is also a good option to go shopping. Is filled with small boutiques and cute coffe shops. Everywhere else was overpriced with all the tourist roaming around.
If I had to rate them, this is the order:
