9 Minis and Travel-Size Makeup To Take On Your Next Trip
If you always get sucked into Sephora’s travel-friendly minis section, I see you. I find myself skipping the entire store and heading straight to this vortex. My fascination with travel makeup is disturbing. But there are logical reasons behind it. 1. They are travel-friendly, obviously! 2. I never hit pan on any of my palettes, and it seems like there is a new release every day. With minis, I spend less vs. buying a full-size palette. And 3. They look too darn cute. How could I resist travel makeup?
So here are my top 9 minis and travel-sized makeup
When I’m traveling, I like to keep my makeup natural and effortless– and by natural I mean no-makeup makeup look with at least eight products used. But from time to time, I like to step up the game. So I love an eyeshadow palette that can do both day and night looks. Versatility is key!
Tarte is a staple in my makeup repertoire. I love their blushes – especially the minis – so it was a no-brainer to have a Tarte mini eyeshadow palette. I love the Tarlette Tease colors. You could easily do daytime as well as smoky looks with this palette.
I’m obsessed with this mini palette. The eyeshadows are super pigmented, easy to blend, and it has a nice mix of shimmery and matte colors. If you like to do glamorous look, this is the one for you!
This mist is a must if you love that dewy skin look. I have this in full size and mini – because I can’t live without it! Some people use it setting spray, but I like to use it before my bb cream for a glow from within type of look. Bonus: The mini container can be refilled.
Although Charlotte Tilbury is not sold at Sephora, I love this palette. As the name implies, you can do your entire face with it. I love taking this palette on weekend getaways or quick trips. I was lucky and snatched it during a sale for $45. It’s currently $75, but for the quality, it’s worth it.
This finishing powder gives you a subtle glow and makes your skin looks flawless. I picked the Radiant finish for a subtle warmth.
The translucent powder is a cult-favorite and for good reasons. The loose powder is super lightweight, locks in makeup, and absorbs oil – if you are on the oily side, you will love this.
This contour palette has everything you need to sizzle those cheekbones on the go! I love the vanilla smell and the pigmentation. Since I got a bit tanned during the summer, the Burst highlighter looks beautiful on me. If you are pale, Gleam will look lovely on you.
I have been using Orgasm for a very long time, and I love this combination. Hot sand is a beautiful golden glow perfect for a touch of summer glow – I’m not a fan of strong highlighters, so this was perfect for me. If you want blinding, maybe skip it.
I like to keep my makeup as well as my tools, travel friendly. I searched high and low for descent travel brushes that didn't feel like it came in a kid's make up set. And I finally found it! Surprisignly, on Amazon. The set of 5, comes with a powder brush (which I think it is worth the $25 alone), a "blush" brush which I use for contouring, an eyeshadow brush, a lip brush, and a eyebrow brush. The bristles are very soft and I have yet to see them fall out. I wished they sold the powder brush separately, so I can get one to keep in my purse.
Note: only the set of 5 is mini.
